Katy Pendlebury is a film and performance maker with a background in contemporary and improvised dance. She gained a BA Hons in Contemporary Dance from London Contemporary Dance School and holds a BA Hons in History of Art from Emmanuel College, Cambridge. A Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award enabled her to make elyas, which won a production award at Dance On Screen at The Place. Katy’s most recent film work, Snöplog, won Best Student Work at Lightmoves Screendance Festival in Limerick, Ireland and has been presented as part of an introduction to British Screendance.
Festivals that have shown Katy’s works include the International Video Dance Festival of Burgundy, Videodanza Buenos Aires, Dança Em Foco Rio de Janeiro and Cinedans Amsterdam. During her MA in Performance and Visual Practices at the University of Brighton, Katy experimented with live performance and integrating live projection into performance.
